Allyson Dean, BSN, RN, is currently Adjunct Faculty for the Lansing Community College’s Nursing Program. During her years at Lansing Community College, she has taught fundamental level nursing students in the clinical and laboratory settings. She focuses on enhancing each student’s understanding of a physical assessment, skill techniques, and developing strong clinical reasoning skills.
Prior to this role, she worked on a medical and surgical unit at Sparrow Hospital, where she collaborated with a multidisciplinary team to provide patients with excellent care and positive outcomes. The next step in her professional path is to explore nursing concepts in greater depth as a student in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Clinical Nurse Specialist Program at Michigan State University College of Nursing.
Evolving from a floor nurse to now pursuing an advanced degree is the direct result of collaborating with other inspiring nurses and educators. She is eager to continue learning and expanding her knowledge base, so she can be an innovator in nursing and provide future patients with the best outcomes and students with the same strong foundation she was given. Allyson looks forward to working with and learning from other inspirational nurses.
